EUROPE

ALL of Europe, but Italy in particular, is booming this summer! The popularity surged after the pandemic and really hasn’t let up. On top of this surge, 2025 is the Jubilee year in Rome, a religious event taking place every 25 years. Some of the most popular tourist spots have now implemented fees to visitors and you can expect long lines this summer at hot spots. TREVI Fountain at 2am vs. 2pm

If you want to plan your trip in late summer/early fall, you will miss a lot of the crowds after school restarts. Much of Italy gets similar weather to that in the U.S. September is generally beautiful and temperatures are a little cooler. With students returning to school, the college kids and the families with children are back home, leaving travel to those without. Whether planning a day trip on a Mediterranean Cruise or extensive time in Italian cities, Island Girl Vacations can help.
I have planned many cruises and other excursions throughout Rome, Barcelona, Venice, Naples and the Greek Islands and have been on separate cruises from Barcelona to the Italian Amalfi coast and Roma as well as from Rome, through Italy and various Greek Islands. Popular Greek islands of Santorini, Crete, Corfu and Mykonos are often on cruise itineraries and many times have extended stays to allow a great overview of the cities and the island. Most stops in these major cities give travelers over 10 hours so that a tourist can visit many of the historical sites that everyone wants to see.
Additionally, I often recommend and plan additional days on the front or back end of a cruise in Rome, Barcelona or Tuscany as these cities deserve the extra time. * Contact Julie@islandgirlvacations.com or send message to Julie at 513-314-1576.
