Just returned from holiday trip to Cabo San Lucas. We stayed at the Hacienda Encantada, which is located in the “hotel zone” between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas.
San Jose: The drive is about 30 minutes north to San Jose, but they have a bustling art scene and wonderful restaurants if looking for a difference scene. I especially like the Thursday evening art-walks which are 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. These include not only many open art galleries, but many street vendors including: Mexican street corn, candies, arts and crafts.
Cabo: With a short taxi (generally $5/person) or a free Shuttle to the sister property on the marina (Marina Encantada), you can be in Cabo San Lucas in about 10 minutes. Cabo is bustling with more lively entertainment. You can enjoy a delicious dinner or lunch on the beach at The Office on the Beach(a bar/restaurant). I consider it a MUST SEE and you can tell all of your friends you are still at the office. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is always a party. From the office is a 1 minute walk to beachside massages (60 minutes for $35), jet ski rentals, and walking vendors galore.
Don’t forget Cabo Wabo for nightly live music. Be forewarned, drinks are a bit pricey… but you did pay for the experience and, who knows, Kenny Chesney or Sammy Hagar may show up for a set.
The picture below was taken with our group in front of the famous Cabo Arch while on PezGato, a large catamaran which specializes in photo ops, snorkeling, whale watching and day drinking. Enjoy all of the fun in Cabo.
There are many other great restaurants which I can recommend from my 9 trips to Cabo, as well as many other excursions. I also have vast experience as I have personally stayed in many of the hotels, both in the corridor as well as downtown and newer resorts on the Pacific side.
